===The cover for pheasants is rather tall and thick despite the drought===

The native grasses for pheasant to walk through the horse weeds are very tall this year. This makes the best coverage for the pheasants. A hunter will have to walk around the tall horse weeds sending his dog going into the weeds to flush out the birds.
These hunting grounds are in a valley with live water running year round, with shelterbelts, weeds and patches of tall native grasses is a excellent habitats for the pheasants.
Rock Creek Hunting and State Conservation Officers feel the cover is some of the best they have seen in South Dakota in years.
The hunting will not be easy but with plenty of pheasants flying, you will have plenty of shooting to test out your marksmanship.
